So far we have 2 singles from A7X’s upcoming studio album “Nightmare” – Nightmare and Buried Alive. Several other tracks are being uploaded to YouTube but unfortunately, Warner Music Group are doing what they do best – removing them due to copyright infringement. So for those who simply cannot wait til Monday/Tuesday for the rest of the album, you might wanna check out THIS SITE. It is currently streaming a new song from the album every week day until the album’s release. Two new tracks (So Far Away & Welcome To The Family) are available right now. They’re not available for download, but you can find them on miscellaneous file hosting sites if you look hard enough. I won’t tell you what they are so I won’t get in trouble, but it took me about 15 seconds to find them. So it isn’t that difficult.

The Rev would be proud.

EDIT: For UK residents, some extra tracks are being played exclusively on Kerrang! Radio right now – http://radioplayer.kerrangradio.co.uk/

EDIT 2: The album has now officially leaked on several torrent sites due it being released in Austria and Switzerland.

SlipKnoT’s bassist, Paul Gray, dies at 38.

Paul Gray, bassist for heavy metal band SlipKnoT, was found dead at the Town Plaza Hotel in Urbandale, Iowa yesterday morning. The coroner did not clarify how he was found or what was in the room. My money’s on drug paraphernalia.
An autopsy was held today. “No cause of death” was established – full report HERE.

I still haven’t come to terms with this fact. I think it’ll be a while until I do.

It’s been a sad couple of months for metal fans. The drummer of Avenged Sevenfold, James “The Rev” Sullivan, died from “natural causes” back in December 2009 and singer Ronnie James Dio from Black Sabbath died from stomach cancer just 9 days ago.

My condolences go out to the families and friends of all those who have passed away, and I hope that the bands they’ve left behind will continue to create great material in their honour.

Flyleaf – 24/3/2010 – Leeds Cockpit

Was a great night. Had never been the to Cockpit before. It was bigger than I imagined but still the smallest gig I’ve ever been to, and one of the best.

These were the only two videos I could find on YouTube. The rest suck and the one I took didn’t work.

Flyleaf are a Christian Rock band from Texas and I highly recommend you give them a listen.

New Album – Lostprophets, “The Betrayed”.

I’ve been a fan of this Welsh rock band for many years now, and they haven’t lost their style one bit. Every track on this album gives a fantastic mix of their old music style and their most recent styles, ranging from fast/loud/screamy, to slow/soulful/operatic to catchy/mainstream. A little bit darker than their previous work too, revealing a new side to them.

Nice to see a decent rock album after all the previous poor excuses last year.

Highly recommended for a hardcore fan or someone looking for something to rock out to.

Currently charting at #1 album on iTunes.

Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan

It’s been almost a month now since The Rev died, and A7X’s lead singer Matt Sanders had this to say:

I don’t know how to start this or know where to begin. First I would like to thank all the fans for their support through the passing of Jimmy. It has been comforting to see his fans, our fans, and everyone in general give their support. Jimmy was my best friend, as he was best friends with many other people including the members of Avenged Sevenfold. He was hands down the greatest person I have ever known. I told him I loved him everyday. He demanded your love and was never afraid to give it back. I have walked side by side with Jimmy, everyday, for the last 18 years of my life. I have no memories before Jimmy, and it’s going to be damn hard to move forward without him here. It still doesn’t seem real. He was my best friend, songwriting partner, band mate, confidant, and most importantly, he was my brother. The crazy thing about Jimmy was that everyday was a crazy story. We have told our favourite Jimmy stories for the last 2 weeks and never have we repeated ourselves. This guy was magical. The out pour of art from his soul was unlike the world has ever seen. Unless you spent a day with Jimmy, or 18 years, it’s impossible to explain, so I’m not going to try. He inspired people in different ways. He wasn’t just a drummer, he honestly didn’t care so much for the technical side of drums, cause he could play anything he wanted. He was all about creating beautiful songs, original fills and hopefully touching people with his art and mind. He told all of us for years, including his parents, that he knew two things in life. He wanted to be a rockstar, and that he wasn’t going to live past 30 years old. He was right on both accounts, but I know Jimmy, and if he knew how much pain this would cause for the ones he left behind, he would have done anything he could to stick around a little longer. Jimmy gave so much and in the end it was his time to go. All my reasons for wanting him to stay are selfish and I know he is in a better place then this, so in a way I’m joyful that my best friend is now at peace. He made it to the other side first and I can’t wait to hang with him again. I have so much to say but can’t find the words so I will wait until time can allow me to find a way to express myself. As for the rest of us, it has become clear what we need to do. We had just finished writing a record with Jimmy. I can’t promise what the future holds because right now it’s too painful to think about, but we know we need to record and put out this record in honor of Jimmy, for Jimmy. He would call me every night to talk about songs and tell me “this shit is gonna change the world.” I agreed with him, unfortunately I didn’t know it would be on these terms. Please be patient with us for we cannot imagine how hard this is gonna be to get through, we just know we have to do it for his legacy. After that, who knows? But I know Jimmy will help us make that decision when the time comes. I love you Jimmy and I feel like the luckiest man in the world to have known you and spent 18 years of my life with you. Rest in Peace my friend.

To finish off, an official tribute video has been made to remember his life and all the great things he’s done for this world. You can watch it here – http://vimeo.com/8777801

I wish I could have met that guy. I count myself lucky to have been at the same gig as him 2 years ago, that’s all I need.
And I guess this is confirmation that A7X will release their new album, and in his honour. What could be better? :)

R.I.P. James Sullivan. We love you. <3

R.I.P. “The Rev”

This is a shout-out to James Owen Sullivan, the drummer for the American rock band Avenged Sevenfold. I’m sure that like me, fans all over the world are devastated to hear that he is no longer with us. He was found dead in his home on December 28th, 2009. Rumours say he died of a heart attack.
This is all very strange, and totally unfair. The man was 28 years old for God’s sake! He didn’t deserve this!

James Owen Sullivan was undoubtedly one of the best drummers the world has ever seen. My heart bleeds for everyone in the band and for James’ family.

I only just got a signed A7X T-Shirt for Christmas too. And because of this tragedy, it has automatically become of collector’s piece! I shall cherish it for as long as I live until the day I die.

The first, and last time I ever say Avenged Sevenfold live. They had the flu and only played 4 songs, but I was still there as a loyal fan and I’m so glad I went. :)

Leaked album – Brand New Eyes

For all you Paramore fans out there, Brand New Eyes, their third studio album, has been leaked online. I won’t give you a link to it in case I get in trouble, (and I’m not your fucking slave) but it shouldn’t be too hard to find.

I’m downloading it now, I’ll let you know what I think of it. ;)

EDIT: I bloody love it! :) a lot different to their previous albums, which is a good thing. It’s always nice to see an artist explore new areas of music.
