Dodgy internet / Guestbook

The lack of updates/activity is no doubt due to my schizophrenic internet. It keeps turning off and on again whenever it pleases, leaving me very small windows of time to actually get something done. I don’t wanna jinx it but right now, it seems okay. However, it’s been like this for 3 days straight. So there’s obviously something awry. I’ll be contacting my internet provider/phone company momentarily to ask them what the Hell’s going on and threaten to leave them if they won’t do anything about it. The delusive, kniving, swindlers that they are.

In other news, my about page (located at the top of any page on this blog) has been updated with a guestbook. So if any visitors wish to leave feedback, make a request for a review/rant/opinion, or wanna throw abuse at me, they can. Please not that the guestbook will be filtered, so watch what you say.

America Online

Don’t worry, I’m not bashing the American’s again. Unfortunately they’ve plagued the Internet with their retarded spellings already.

I’m talking about America Online. Or as it’s more commonly know, AOL, the internet provider. I’ve been using them for several years now and I have to say, they’re absolute crap. AOL is a totally untrustworthy internet provider: they don’t provide anti-virus protection even though they say they will, they record your AIM chats and can therefore use it against you if you’re up to something, they cost far too much, their tech support is annoying, persistent, and doesnt solve problems that well, and they constantly keep fucking around with your connection and DNS settings for no apparent reason. That last one is so relentless that I’m lucky to be writing this blog post at all. Some nights I can barley get online for longer than 2 minutes without getting disconnected.

My next door neighbour however, has no problems because they use a different internet provider. I don’t know who provider that is, but I’m sure as hell gonna ask him about it so that I can switch to it and be rid of the monstrosity that is AOL. They even said they’d offer me 20MB broadband. But what did they give me? 8MB that can only go up to 2MB – Bastards!

All I have left to say is, AOL can shove it up their disconnecting, unreliable, American arse!

Up late…

…and my internet seems to be quicker than ever. Not much use at this time of night though.

Internet Broadband

Been having some internet troubles latley, hence the lack of blog posts. My brother and I have finally convinced our mother to upgrade our broadband (if you can call it that at the moment) and that should hopefully be done soon. We tried for O2 broadband but decided on upgrading our current AOL broadband.

A college student in the U.S. is looking at a possible ten-year prison sentence after being arrested for the dastardly crime of modding game consoles.

Madness. Yes, modding games consoles is wrong. But 10 years in prison is madness. Sheer madness.

Karen Dyer, the actress who played Sheva Alomar in Capcom’s “Resident Evil 5″, has released a calender of herself dressed as Sheva in response to fan requests.

Utterly pointless if you ask me, she doesn’t even look like Sheva judging from this picture. Next all the other actors from the game will be releasing calenders, even the Majini.

A 38-year-old Japanese man has been sentenced to 2.5 years in prison and fined $96,000 for hosting illegally downloadable DS games on a website.

First off, who would want to do that? DS games are cheap anyway; and I don’t think people who own a DS are clever enough to download games illegally, are they?

British newspaper the Daily Telegraph predicts that the rumoured ‘slim’ version of the PlayStation 3 will retail for £260.

If it does retail at that price, I won’t be getting one. Because what’s the point? It costs far too much, it no doubt won’t have the same backwards capabilities as the 60GB model and who cares if it’s smaller? It’s still the same bloody console.
